Where I’ve Been & What I’ve Been Reading

Dear reader,

I hope you are well and that 2020 has been nice to you. It’s been a while since I last wrote on here and wow does it feel weird to finally be doing so again. For months now, really since I graduated in July, I have had such a lack of motivation, besides the obvious freak out of trying to find a job in publishing & London. It’s been hard. I’m overwhelmed by the fact that I don’t know what I’m doing and I still feel discouraged every time I receive a rejection. To quote William Whewell, ‘Every failure is a step to success’ but gosh does it not feel like it most days. Continue reading “Where I’ve Been & What I’ve Been Reading”

Mid-Year Reading Update

Screen Shot 2019-06-12 at 1.53.58 PM

Hello book lovers! I hope that all of you are doing well. Is anyone else completely thrown-off by the fact that it is already June? Where has this year gone?? As someone dealing with the pressures of finding a job and moving, I do not appreciate time flying by – it only adds to the stress! June is also the halfway mark for those of us with reading goals for 2019. My goal is 35 books and I am only at 12, thanks to barely having any ‘fun reading time’ during the final months of my degree, which Goodreads likes to remind me as being ‘3 books behind schedule’. Thanks babe. Continue reading “Mid-Year Reading Update”

Started The Year Off Strong

January Wrap Up Title

Hello book lovers! We are already into the second month of 2018 which is unbelievable and quite stressful seeing as my April deadlines are officially fast approaching.

January was a decent reading month for me – I completed two books and got through half of another. I have to read five books for my Creative Writing course by April so that has been my priority lately though I do think that I might give myself a quick break seeing as I have almost completed three of the five. What I Read in 2017 + Ratings

2017WrapUpTitle

Hello everyone! It is officially that time of the year! My first ever end-of-the-year reading wrap-up! How exciting!

I have seen a lot of book bloggers do this differently but I have chosen to rate every single book that I read this year – there are only 26, don’t worry! #1 is the best book and #26 is the worst book – I will include my ratings and a brief comment on them. And yes, I will try to not be too enthusiastic or mean. Continue reading “What I Read in 2017 + Ratings”

2017 Summer Reading Wrap-Up

Summer2017WrapUp.png

Hello everyone! Long time no see, huh? Life has gotten a bit crazy since my last post with moving back to uni and getting used to my new apartment. I tell myself to catch up on this blog every time I find some free time but then get distracted so sorry guys! But I am officially back and with far more posts planned for the next few months. Yay for being productive!

Today I thought that it would be fun to share with you guys a quick review of my summer reading wrap-up. I definitely didn’t read as much as I thought I would but making the most of my time with family and a break from school was priority. I actually didn’t realise until I started writing this blog that all of the books I read were either amazing (five stars) or average (three stars) which really isn’t bad for reading a total of six books but hopefully my year ends with high ratings.

June Wrap-Up

JuneWrap-UpTitle

This was definitely my best reading month yet for the summer. I read three books, listened to one audiobook and have started a new series. Thanks to traveling to pack out of my dorm and finding really good books, I didn’t have trouble with choosing reading time over sleep nor TV. It’s about time I got back into my reading habits. May Wrap-Up

May2017WrapUp.png

May – My first month of summer in which I spent more time catching up on TV shows, eating and spending time with family than reading books. Oh well!

I started this month with hopes of reading at least three books – one that my boyfriend suggested, one that I have been waiting months to read and one that I left at home while returning to uni to finish the school year. Did I get through all three? No. However, I did get through two of them and 50% through an audio book, which is pretty good.
