Hello book lovers! I am finally back after a very long ten months’ hiatus. Life has been crazy, to say the least – and boy has a lot changed since I last wrote to you guys. Just to do a quick round-up, here’s a bit of what happened these last ten months: Continue reading “A Life Update”
Hello book lovers! Guess who is FINALLY catching up on her growing review pile – this girl! I have been flying through books these past few weeks and yet it some how just hit me that I haven’t been writing any reviews lately – and I need to for the majority that I have read because either I loved them and/or I have a lot to say about them. Thankfully today’s is a read that caught me surprise and I absolutely loved it. I COULDN’T PUT IT DOWN! Continue reading “I Couldn’t Put This Book Down.”
Hello book lovers! Life has been a bit crazy lately but I finally found the time to work on my blog which means me finally feeling happy with it and ready to focus on my summer posts. Hooray! As those of you who follow me on Instagram (@papercupsandpaperbacks) may already know, I have decided to run a summer book club. I got a really good response from all of you guys on Instagram when I ran a poll which showed me that this truly would be fun and a great idea to keep me on schedule with all of my accounts this summer. Hello book lovers! I hope that all of you are doing well. I am officially on summer break but have been super busy with my family so my blog has been put on hold for a bit but I am back! I have a lot of fun posts planned for these next few months so be sure to follow so that you don’t miss out!
I was originally just going to make a haul for the month of April but then realised that I went on a book buying craze in both April and May. I was trying to make the most of my time with Waterstones and Foyles while dealing with new releases that I have been eager to grab, as well as having my mom visit which lead to spending a while in Waterstones Piccadilly and going to central with my boyfriend numerous times which means returning with at least one book each time. TALK ABOUT BOOK BUYING SUPPORT! Continue reading “Spring Book Haul: I Have No Control”
Hello book lovers! Guess who is finally free and on summer break! This girl! I have so much planned for this summer with this blog and my YouTube channel which makes me so happy and I am ready to take on all of my goals.
Now for those of you that follow my bookstagram, you may remember me mentioning some things on my 2018 Bucket List in January – going to the cinema by myself for the very first time was one of them. I have been trying to work out the perfect time and movie for this ever since and last Tuesday was finally the big day! (Wow, I am being dramatic about this but guys — it was a big deal to me). Continue reading “2018 Bucket List: I Finally Went to the Cinema by Myself”
Hello book lovers! Today’s review is for the first classic that I have read this year and boy did I love it. I needed to read a book for my creative writing course that discussed depression in a way that current books don’t so I took a leap by selecting The Bell Jar by Sylvia Plath. I have been wanting to read this book for a while and went into it barely knowing anything about the plot. It did turn my stomach at times but I fell right into it and couldn’t stop reading it whenever I had the time to. I could have easily flown through it in a matter of days but darn university for making it take eleven days – which isn’t TOO bad… right?

Hello book lovers! I hope that all of you are having a lovely week. It has been quite a long time since I did a haul (thanks to me putting myself on a book-buying ban) but thanks to my creative writing course and being sent books for review, I finally have a pile to share with you guys! Woo! Continue reading “March Book Haul”
Hello book lovers! I am posting this review over 48 hours after finishing the book and I AM STILL NOT OKAY!! I finally gave in to buying this book on World Book Day, because I obviously had to celebrate it that way, and boy do I not know how it took me so long to pick it up! I first heard about Call Me By Your Name by Andre Aciman when the trailer was released last year as it was being shown in film festivals. It caught my attention right away with its artsy and travel vibes so once I found out that it was originally a book, I was ecstatic. Continue reading “The Book That I Read in Only Three Days”
Hello book lovers! Today is a bit of a different post but that is because I had an incredible, unforgettable, and life-changing experience a few weeks ago and have finally found the time to share it with you.
On Wednesday, 07 February, I went to the Hachette publishing house in London with my university’s publishing degree students to have a three-hour visit. Now before I get into all of the things that made me fall even more in love and eager to have a career in publishing, let’s just enjoy this photo of me which completely sums up my entire day. I almost cried three times, no joke. Continue reading “An Unforgettable Day at Hachette”
Hello book lovers! I thought that it would be fun to set myself a TBR pile for February. I tend to not do this anymore as I never stick to them but this month I am on a massive reading kick so I thought that I would give it another go while being more reasonable with my amount.
January was a really good month for me but I have decided to give myself a break from my reading assignments for my creative writing course (minus my massive one) and focus on some of the books that I bought recently. Continue reading “The Month for Big Books and Bribing?”
